Course
|
|
The Diploma programme is a three year course consisting
of six semesters. The curriculum consists of theory and practical
in modern computer application areas.
|
|
|
On successful completion of the course the candidate
will be awarded with a Diploma as per GO(Ms) No.4/2006/SWD
dated 17.01.2006 of Government of Kerala |
|
|

Total no: of seats for the course is 25. |

Application forms
|
|
Application Forms and Prospectus can be had from The
Director, National Institute of Speech & Hearing, Karimanal P O,
Trivandrum-695 583 either in person or on request with self addressed
stamped envelope of Rs. 10/- of size 23 ´ 15 cms. Forms will be
issued free of cost. |

Submission of Application
|
|
Application duly filled and with the following certificates
should reach the Director on or before 30-06-2007. Late application
will be summarily rejected. |
|
|
Photocopy of mark-list of qualifying exam |
|
|
Photocopy of certificates of disability. |
|
|
Application sent by post should be registered with
acknowledgement due. Application may also be submitted in person
at the institute. |
|
|
Application received after the due date and those
not accompanied by required details / documents will not be considered.
Candidates are advised not to enclose originals of any documents |

Eligibility
|
|
Admission is restricted to those who are hearing impaired,
as defined in " The Persons With Disabilities (Equal Opportunities,
Protection of Rights And Full Participation) Acts1995". Hearing
Impairment means loss of 60dB or more in the better ear in the conversational
range of frequencies. |
|
|
Candidates must have passed SSLC / THSLC or equivalent
examination with eligibility for admission to a course of study
in a college affiliated to the Universities of Kerala. |
|
|
Applicants must use speech and residual hearing and
/or speech reading as a primary mode of communication. |

Mode of Selection
|
|
Selection of the candidates will be made by the
Board of NISH.
|
|
|
Selection will be made on the basis of marks in
the qualifying examination, an aptitude test conducted by NISH
and an interview. A minimum mark in the aptitude test is necessary
for admission.
|
|
|
Weightage will be given for candidates who have passed
plus two |
|
|
Candidates must produce originals of all documents
at the time of interview. Those who fail to produce the originals
at the time of interview will not be considered for admission. |

Issue of Diploma
|
|
Sucessful candidates will be issued Diploma as per
GO(Ms) No 4/2006/SWD dated 17/1/2006 of Government of Kerala. |
