Early Identification & Developing High Risk Register

The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India had sponsored a project entitled "Developing an Indian High Risk Register ( High Risk Group) for Hearing Impairment in High Risk Infants" submitted by NISH. The Project, which has been completed, envisaged the development of a High Risk Register for hearing-impairment by conducting hearing evaluation of all new born children over a period of two years. As a pilot study the screening was done at SAT Hospital,Trivandrum.

Oto Acoustic Emission analyzer which is non invasive. The research study gives useful data to develop preventive measures for hearing impairment.
